What You'll Come Away With
You’ll explore what a recovery strategy looks like, gradually using practical tools and developing sustainable habits that fit in to your life, to form your own personal recovery plan. You’ll learn how to feed the upward spiral of recovery, and apply techniques to get back on track when things start to go downhill (because life happens). Each session is a combination of learning and personal application – just because we’re a group doesn’t mean it’s one-size-fits-all. Quite the opposite.
Together we’ll share our successes and challenges, tips and discoveries, and build on these to head toward the future health and wellbeing that we want for ourselves, and each other, post post-concussion.
What we Cover
The key topics we cover are the specific evidence-based foundational strategies shown to support post concussion recovery. These are:
- Nervous system regulation
- Neuroscience of pain
- Nutrition for brain health
- Exercise, sleep and rest
- Mindset for recovery
Using a coaching approach, I help you to understand and apply these in a way that's manageable, realistic and not overwhelming.
In addition I help you identify and find the specialist concussion-informed clinical support within the UK that you're also likely to need once these foundations are established.
What to Expect
We’ll be a small group (up to 10 people) meeting weekly on Zoom, starting off with five sessions unpacking and applying the key recovery strategies, then 5 sessions of follow-up coaching to enable you to put it all into practise in real life. In some sessions we’ll be joined by other wonderful people who have been through it and come out the other side, for their encouragement, wisdom and personal perspective on recovery.
You'll also have a half-hour online session 1:1 with Clare whenever you choose, so you can dig deeper into any specific challenges with your situation.
If looking at a screen for a full hour is too uncomfortable, you can turn your camera off and keep your eyes closed when needed. It's fine, we get it.
I suggest having a notebook handy for capturing your insights and actions. I record the session and send it to you afterwards for reference, along with the slides and any handouts.
Cost
£495 for 10 group sessions, plus a 1:1 session, plus all materials and ongoing email support.
Don’t let cost be a barrier - there are various options we can explore, particularly if you’re not working. We can work something out.
