The Right to Rehab
Acquired Brain Injury - "the total impact to the economy including lost productivity, NHS care and benefits totals £43bn per year, though the true figure is likely to be higher..." Yikes. The 'Right to Rehab' and focus on rebuilding lives after brain injury is something I wholeheartedly support. Currently if you "only" have a mis-named "mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI)" there's virtually no recovery support on the NHS. I speak to so many post-concussion sufferers who haven't worked for years - professionals, people who want to work again but struggle with symptoms.
With whole-person support and a personalised approach, that includes day-to-day actions we can all implement, recovery is possible. I know first hand.
